Controversial Senatorial Candidates for the Win

Philippine Election 2013 is almost done. As of May 14 2013 09:09 AM, 67% election results have been processed. After few hours, we will have the final list. For days, weeks and months, there are a lot of speculations we heard for different candidates, and as the day comes for voting, a lot of issues arose in a sudden. As of the date and time shown above, the two most controversial senatorial candidates are on their way for victory.

Who will ever forget the Pagsubok question to Cynthia Villar aired on Febuary 23 2013? Everyone was shocked with the answer she threw without any hesitation. The question was "How can you reconcile your desire to help the poor at pagpanig niyo sa may-ari ng nursing schools na gusto sanang ipasara ng Technican Nursing Committiee at ng Ched?"And with the number of seconds provided for her to answer she directly answered, "Actually, hindi kailangan ng mga nurse na matapos ng BSN. Kasi itong ating mga nurse gusto lang nilang maging room nurse. Or sa America and in other countries e ano lang sila, yung parang mag-aalaga. Hindi naman sila kailangan ganoon kagaling." Most of the nurses swear that this lady will not ever step to the Senate, guess she's still on the go with 9,775,163 votes at number 10. 

Let's talk about confidence. Do you think you have what it takes to call for a press conference two days before the voting and dare all Filipinos not to vote for you instead to vote for someone else? Do you think you have the guts to decline a debate provided for the candidates to make them stand still? I bet you totally don't have but there is someone who did those, it's Nancy Binay. After a dream she had, which is being a senator, she called for a press conference and said to the press, "I am confident for my win and I dare all Filipinos who are thinking to vote me not to this coming Monday." She even said to vote for someone else but then again she thinks she will still come out the victor. Guess, she's right and her dream is almost there to come true. Binay ranks 5th with 11,730,988 votes.

Bungee Jumping Accident

What is for you the best way to enjoy and have fun this Summer Break? Most likely, just simply sunny dipping on the beach with friends. Or maybe swimming and jumping on the beach or in the pool. That's kind a whole lot of fun for some, but there are people who would like to spend their summer in an extreme way. I was surfing the net and saw few videos of people having fun then suddenly it all went bad. One of which is bungee jumping.

Who will ever think that a bungee jump that they thought is 100% safe, can turn to a disaster. A lady fell unto the river after she jumped to experience the extreme bungee jump. That was 111 feet and to think it is a crocodile infested water but luckily she was able to swam safely and survived. You can see and hear her friends screaming and swearing but they can do nothing.

American Idol Season 12 Top 10 Revealed

The Top 10 of American Idol Season 12 was revealed tonight by the show host Ryan Seacrest. After several cuts, the Top 10 contestants finally survived the final cut to welcome them to the Live Shows. The host revealed the finalists by telling the contestants in a room that they made it through to the Live Shows. After revealing it to the contestants, they were brought to the stage to surprise the judges and the audience. These Top 10 contestants will get to perform on American Idol Season 12 nationwide tour this summer including a lucky wild card contestant as what announced by Ryan. The top 10 finalists are:

All Fil-Am contestants were wiped out from American Idol Season 12 after Adriana Latonio got eliminated from the Semi Final. But it doesn't mean that Filipinos, as one of the avid viewers of American Idol, will stop watching this show. I believe they still have their own bet on who to win the Season 12 of American Idol. Hopefully, Adriana Latonio will be included to the World Tour in the Philippines for another warm support from the Filipinos.

POEM: Prayers are the Best Meds

So this is the first time I will join the Verse First in Poets United. Since it is all about Cure, hope this one will make sense with the topic required. I just remembered how scared am I when my father was rushed in a hospital. And I told myself, I don't want to be in an ambulance ever again. Let me know what you think after you read this... ;)

Concentration broke with the wail

Saw a man lying, pale

There's a woman on his side with a face of fail

I'm at the back holding the bill.

We're in the bus of fastest

People-in were on their weakest

The road were the busiest

I began to worry holding my fist.

As the man hear me talk

He forced himself, he spoke

"Take care of your mom, she'll cook"

Tears flowed my cheeks, she looked.

"You'll be okay" I replied

My mom held him and spied

She didn't go away his side

So do I.

He slept for a while

The bus run another mile

I looked the grip of his hand

To my mom's right armband.

He began to breathe deeply,

I thank God willingly

We don't want to loss him truly

"We've arrived," I told them gladly.

I can feel his pain

Rushing through my vein

Nurses were rushing in

Checking him with a keen.

Inside the white room

Everything's like a doom

All we're sitting with a loom

I sighted all patients in a zoom. 

The room seems clean

Choosing the Best Diamond Ring: Don’t Do the Same Mistake he Did

A mistake cannot be done if you are going to get something special. Life for some might be full of mistakes, but not this time. Michael was trying to get her wife a diamond ring as a gift for their 1st year Anniversary. He has no idea what type of diamond ring will he get. The only thought he has on his mind is that his wife always wants to have a diamond ring on her finger. He is also on a tight budget so he was asking for friends’ advice where to get the cheapest diamond ring but they have no idea. As he was walking downtown, he saw a shop for jewelry. He decided to have a look inside thinking that maybe he will find a ring there that will suit his wife's finger and his wallet.

When he was checking the diamond rings that are available a lady approached her. He was asked if he is looking for a diamond ring because she has one available handy and looking for a buyer. Marian whispered to him saying to go out the jewelry shop and they will just talk to each other at the coffee shop in front of the shop. When the two arrived in the coffee shop, they get a table and talk for a while. Marian slowly reached the diamond ring from her pocket. It was a beautiful diamond ring with a princes cut. Michael was so amazed on how elegant it looks and really excited to buy the ring. Marian sells the ring for $1000 since according to her it’s one carat in a 14 K white gold. They had a deal; Michael bought it and went home as fast as he could.

Michael has the diamond ring handy. He can’t believe it that he found someone or either someone came forward to him to offer an elegant ring for a cheap price. When he finally sat on the sofa, it suddenly came to his mind, what if it is a fake ring. His heart pounded so fast and he started shaking. He contacted a diamond specialist, the person who his wife usually contacts to verify if the diamond is truly pure. Shane went over and examined the diamond ring. After Shane delivered the result to him, he was dismayed. He can’t believe it that he spent his thousand bucks to a young lady who he doesn’t even know and even ruined his surprise for his wife. That day he bought just a simple bouquet of flowers to surprise his wife. After all, it is still better to check with a diamond specialist to make sure that your money is worth the item you’re buying.

A Japanese Man Refused by the Hospitals 36 Times Died

The man was living alone in the city of Kuki, a city north of Tokyo. He had a difficulty breathing reason why he called an ambulance. Paramedics rushed to his house to help the man but they were refused by all 25 hospitals in the area saying that they could not accept the man because of lack of doctors or any beds. According to the local city official, some institutions were contact once to help the patient but still refused.

The ambulance decided to have a 20 minute drive to a hospital in neighboring Ibaraki, but the man was pronounced dead after arrival. The cause of death wasn't announced in public. According to paramedics, they never experienced a man being rejected multiple times. The official said that the city where the man lived needs to improve their emergency room capacity.

This happens because of the population of the people living longer in Japan but with a fewer young people who are entering healthcare, and this could become increasingly strained in the coming decades.

Real Batman Handed a Crime Suspect

You will not going to believe this, in the middle of the night a man dressed as Batman went to a British police station handing a crime suspect and said, "I've caught this one for you!" according to the officers.

Police officers were baffled with the mystery fighter who handed a crime suspect that has been part of a couple of crimes including a couple of fraud-related offences. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

After the mystery event that night, the police in the Buttershaw area of Bradford has still no idea who is the mystery Batman and he still remains unknown.

Few say that he may know the suspect since there was a little sign of struggle when he captured the arrested man which was caught in a CCTV.

Whoever this guys is, he saves the day! ;)

A Baby was Cured from H.I.V., How True is this?

Apparently doctors were able to cure a baby with a virus causes AIDS or what we called as H.I.V. The treatment started a day after the baby was born. And if the baby is truly affected with the said virus, this would be the first time a person was cured with just simple drug treatments.

If it is about prevention from the transmission of the virus to the baby from the infected mother, that is possible during pregnancy and with necessary testing. Those found infected will be treated with antiretroviral drugs and giving the babies a 6-week course of 1 or 2 drugs will prevent the baby from being infected. In most cases, this type of prevention works, but if it turns out the other way around, doctors provide stronger drug regimens to have the infection treated from the baby. 

In the recent case of an H.I.V. infected woman from Mississippi, she was not able to do the treatment during her pregnancy, so that doctors gave her baby a 3-drug treatment-strength regimen, that is 30 hours after birth. This medications were continued for 18 months until the mother decided to stop going to the hospital and stop the medication. After 5 months, the mother with her child returned to the hospital and was found that the baby is free from the active virus. The baby is now 2 and a half years old. With very sophisticated tests, traces of virus can be found but this will not be able to spread and replicate which they called as "functional cure."

This was an alert to all doctors who are willing to find cure to this dangerous virus. Yet, researchers need to demonstrate conclusively that the baby was truly infected and was not just a prevention from absorbing the infection from the child's mother. 

If this is really believed to be the cure of most cases, it could be the start of standard care around the world since statistics shows that 200 babies a year are born with H.I.V. infections in the US, and 300,000 babies a year are born with such virus and infections abroad. Even if this will work in the future, the best defense with the transmission from the mother to the baby is still prevention which is preferably treated after the infection set in. 

Cynthia Villar Caught Nurses' Attention - Is it Bad?

One of the candidates for Senator of CBCP, Cynthia Villar is now the topic of most FIlipino nurses because of her "Pagsubok" question from Winnie aired last Febuary 23, 2013. She was asked, "How can you reconcile your desire to help the poor at pagpanig niyo sa may-ari ng nursing schools na gusto sanang ipasara ng Technican Nursing Committiee at ng Ched?"

Without any hesitation she replied, "Actually, hindi kailangan ng mga nurse na matapos ng BSN. Kasi itong ating mga nurse gusto lang nilang maging room nurse. Or sa America and in other countries e ano lang sila, yung parang mag-aalaga. Hindi naman sila kailangan ganoon kagaling."

With this being said, I caught myself saying, "Hell no!!!" Nurses had a hard time studying during their college years and as what graduates and students said, it's like entering hell that you need to strive to get out to save yourself. So simple, it's not easy to get this degree. And her, saying that Filipino nurses would just like to be a room nurse, it's not "JUST" or "LANG", because they are the "right hands" of the doctors and still in a cooperation to save someone's life.

I'm not sure what she was on her mind that time, thinking that Election 2013 is about to come and that she is one of the candidates running for Senator. According to DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment), Philippines produces 200,000 Nursing graduates per year. Look! That's per year, and if most of these are registered to vote, I don't know what will happen to Cynthia VIllar after her statement. Maybe she needs to make her self up and think of what to say to get the attention of the nurses that she meant something else, because if not... we'll see what will happen!

Note: I'm not a Nurse or a Nursing Student, but I have friends and families who are... And hearing this, is such a BIG MISTAKE for her...

I was a little bored that time when I wrote this down on a piece of paper. Guess, I cracked a laughter after reading it. Afterwards, I even asked myself what kind of person am I? So how about you, ask yourself where do you belong? ;)

Being single,

Can make you mingle,

American Idol Season 12 Top 20 Finalists

After tonight's show, the judges made their decision on who are those that will complete the Top 20. We have seen a lot of talents from this season. Unfortunately, some of them have to end their journey. Good news is, most of the finalists are the real artists and singers. It has been tough for the judges to choose who to stay and who to send home. It was a sudden farewell for the both of them. Josh Holiday whom I believe is a real singer was sent home after the deliberation tonight but it's not the end of his journey. He has the voice that most of the people will surely love. Rachel Hale, who finally got off from her shell last night and showed the world how confident she was to deserve a stool for the Finals, was too eliminated from the show. These guys and some have a real potential that can make the music industry boost, which I know American Idol might not be the right place for them, but surely they will have their own spot and they will have their own star shining brightly on the sky.

In the west,

The wind eerily whispered,

Thunders harshly triggered,

The trees clinched and withered,

By the harsh heart of hatred.

In the east,

The wind softly blew,

The rainbow elapsed from blue,

Plants gloom obviously true,

By the ultimate heart of rue.

Perambulating the nook

Stagnant as a steady brook.

Shrewish eyes were calmly soothe

Vibrant by the orange clothe.

Clamant for the men in black

Forcefully punch the wall's crack.

Utmost stuck perfidiously

Sued by the vicious bully. 

Ratified a gruesome death

Jaded with the gritted teeth.

Mobile World Congress 2013

As what most people awaited worldwide, MWC 2013 is held in Barcelona which is until February 28 2013. All mobile manufacturers show what they've got to prove how can  they change from good to better and from better to best. One of which is the awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, which is said to be rival of Apple's iPad Mini because of it's 8-in display same as of the iPad Mini. During the MWC, a hands on for the said device is intended to impress the people with its glossy white exterior and the specs that most people would like to grab. No signs of stuttering or lagging showed during the hands on which will result to a better experience for the user. 

Samsung is not the only manufacturer that showed what's new. Asus showed the improvement of the phones and tablets they are releasing and an attest to that is the Asus Padfone Infinity which has a flatter look compared to previous Asus phones. It has a 5-in display and comes with a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor from Qualcomm. 

HTC has gone for a larger pixel phone which shows on their HTC One. And I guess, LG is the new rival of Samsung because of their new released phone LG Optimus G Pro which will target most of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 fans, because of its specs that is totally comparable to the Note 2. This LG phone goes with an IPS screen compared to Galaxy Note's AMOLED version. 

It won't stop there, Huawei took a much higher step for introducing Huawei Ascend P2, which according to the CEO of Huawei's Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu, it is the "world's fastest smartphone". According to him, it is the first smartphone that is introduced that supports LTE category 4. This LTE allows you to download with a speed of up to 150 Mbps. As how it was introduces, he said it has also offers faster connection on Wi-Fi networks. He also iterated how elegant the display and shape of the said phone.   

Because of these manufacturers, we can see real improvements and developments for each phone from time to time as they battle to create the best of the bests. 

Hot Air Balloon Tragedy in Europe

Whoever thought that a hot air balloon ride can cause a horrific event and mayhem in Europe. On Tuesday, a hot air balloon was found burned in Luxor causing the death of 18 foreigners, these include Hong Kong, British, French and Japanese Nationals. The balloon was at around 300 m high when the balloon was caught on fire and plunged on the fields in the home of the most popular pharaonic-era ruins. Two of the people from the balloon, including the operator, survived the tragedy after jumping off the balloon before it totally crashed. The purpose of this hot air balloon ride is to give the tourists the aerial view of Luxor including its famous sites like the royal tombs and the Karnak Temple. Guess, it turned out to be their last historic view. It was reported that a gas cylinder exploded while on the air the reason why it crushed to the fields and causing a sudden death to the tourists.

Believe it or not, this is not the first time it happened. In April 2009, tourists were injured including two British women when their hot air balloon hit a communications tower in the said city. With this, operators should be keen enough on controlling the hot air balloon and to make sure more safety parameters because this happened once, twice and might happen again in the future. We never know!

Harlem Shake Hits Number 1

Baauer hits the number one spot for his most popular song, Harlem Shake. This is the first week of that song to be featured in Billboard but already hit the highest spot. Well, around the world people have been crazy with this new dance craze.

I think Psy's Gangnam Style has been wiped out by this new song. And in fact, I think everyone's doing this. Yes! Even the Hollywood stars gone crazy because of this. Let's say some of these guys are Jon Stewart, Ed Sheeran, Ryan Seacrest, Stephen Colbert and Anderson Cooper who showcased their best dance moves to the song.

Let's not put behind the fact that Azelia Banks, 21, took the track and added it in her own rap lyrics. Since celebrities gone mad with this track, how much more students, and other personas all over the world? And whoever thought that the promising country singer Scotty McCreery recorded his own version of Baauer's song. 

I guess there are some who are totally insane to show what they've got together with this song. Because of this craziness, four Egyptian students were arrested after doing the Harlem Shake in their underwear. Well I don't get it. Why do they need to wear underwear alone while dancing? Does it makes sense. Well, for me no! Police spotted the semi-naked students filming themselves in a middle-class Cairo neighborhood. And for the result, the neighbors were not impressed with their dance moves instead they were accused of committing a "Scandalous Act". The angry crowd even tried to stop them in their tracks. Yet with all of these, they still managed to create a video and it goes viral in the internet, wherein the original video has been viewed almost 16 million times in YouTube. Amazing, indeed! 

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 VS Apple iPad Mini

Samsung has been a total rival of Apple. Apple released iPad Mini but Samsung can't be stopped which can totally march its rival with the new Galaxy Note 8.0 which has a phonecall capability. The said device will be showcased in the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on the 25th of Febuary. It was said by the firm that global sales will totally take place in the second quarter of this year.

Same as with other Galaxy Notes, the device comes with a stylus pen that will allow users to draw or write on the screen with conveniece. This device will be marketed by Samsung as a tablet and is still powered by Google's Android software.

Wait! Do I have to ask questions about myself? Well, I guess yes, I should since I want to keep the connection between me and you (my readers). If you are one of those who is reading this now, I really appreciate it. I always want to call myself a WRITER, especially a BLOGGER... Guess, it's a DREAM COME TRUE!!! ;)


For all of the hobbies why blogging?

It wasn't an intention for me to blog. What I love most is writing poems and stories. Blogging is an unfamiliar word for me at first. I even asked a friend how can you call yourself a BLOGGER. I received a simple answer, "So long as you started to write blog posts, from then you can call yourself a blogger." Simple yet makes sense. I've been writing poems and stories for years, but never thought of myself blogging. One day, I really want to have a part time job, so I tried browsing the internet to look for something easy where I can earn more and can suffice my needs. If you will try to look for a part time freelancing job online, most of which are article writers, bloggers and web designers. I've been working with different employers since then. After a month, I started to write different stuffs and post it as a blog. From thereon, I started writing blogs and hoping for more in the future.


What makes you write?

There are times that you will really have a hard time writing. It's like you want to keep your blog updated yet, you don't know what to post. It differs on each individual what makes them pursue or persevere for what they aim for. Duh! Let me rephrase it. People write depending on what they feel or should I call an emotional push or persuasion. Few years ago, most of the time, I'm sad, alone, lonely and I can really call myself a LONER. Let's add the fact that I'm too DAMN when it comes to love and makes me bury myself to my own sadness. With that situation, that made me write more and express myself. I'm a type of person that don't feel like sharing to others 'cause I don't want to add to any burden that they might be carrying on their shoulders. For that longest time, my pen and my notebook have always been with me all throughout my journey: through the darkest and meaningful years. On the other hand, some of the people can write better when they feel HAPPY or IN LOVE. They tend to develop more ideas because of the stimulation of such behavior and ability. That works for me sometimes.


A lot of bloggers are hitting the internet, what difference can you make to be unique?

There are really a lot of talented bloggers, and no doubt that they really excel on what they do most of the time. I am planning a lot of stuffs to feature on my blog. And maybe you will see those in the future. I can only write during my spare time so I can't do daily post but if there's really something important or an urgent information that I want you guys to know, then that should be right away.

Filipino Adriana Latonio in American Idol

Another Fil-Am showed the talent for singing in American Idol Season 12. After the Sudden Death on Thursday, Adriana Latonio is included as one of the Top 20 finalists of American Idol Season 12. Adriana sang her own version of Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way" and showed the world her talent. Two more Fil-Ams to perform next: Jett Hermano from Seattle and Bryant Tradeo from Hawaii.




Other finalists are Amber Holcomb who performed a rendition of Frank Sinatra's "My Funny Valentine"; Tenna Torres who wowed the judges for performing Natasha Bedinglfields' "Soulmate"; Angela Miller who is a true artist because of her solo performance of her original song and showed what she got during the Sudden Death with Jessie J's "Nobody's Perfect"; and lastly the strong girl Kree Harrsion who sang Patty Griffin's "Up the Mountain".

On the other hand, some of the contestants have their journey for American Idol Season 12 ended. It was a Sudden Death Farewell for Jenny Beth Willis, Isabelle, Brandy Hotard, Kamaria Ousley, and Shubha Vedula.

Sportskids of the Year 2012 - an Inspiring Story

Another inspiring story hit the people. The Long brothers were awarded as the 2012 Sportskids of the Year. A nine year old boy named Conner had an idea to participate in sports together with his seven year old brother Cayden. They've been joining a lot of sports events. They joined the triathlon competition together wherein Conner swims while pulling the raft where Cayden is. The big brother bikes while his little brother is being towed on a trailer behind him. When Conner runs, he pushes that trailer where Cayden is seated. Together they start the race and together they end it with utmost joy and strong relationship.

29 Jan 2014. I was amazed by how Hallo Hallo Mall, thinking that this site can really make the internet traffic huge. How they advertise and provide promo is truly amazing, and this is the reason why I got them featured in my blog that time, not thinking that this can turn out bad. After few days and weeks of having it posted in my blog, comments regarding this site blew my mind away. One user even said that the blog title should be changed from BEST to WORST. Another one says that this is truly a SCAM. Take note of those two words - SCAM and WORST. Now it is your choice if you continue to shop in the said site. Just an advice, don't take the risk of losing few bucks, because there are other sites that are truly convenient.

Muziklaban 2013

Pupil played at Muziklaban 2013 together with other bands

02 Feb 2013, EDSA cor. Roxas Blvd. Red Horse organized another event of Muziklaban to show the talents of Filipinos all over the Philippines when it comes to band and music. It has been a great night for everyone when the gates were widely opened for the fans and audiences around 3PM. General Admission was so affordable - Php 50 only and it comes with a free Red Horse Beer 330 mL. For VIP there is an additional raffle stub to win raffle prices and to win the grand prize, a Beer Custom Bike. The grand winner of the Battle of the Bands was announced with the presence of Ely Buendia, a lead vocalist of a Pinoy rockband Eraserheads.

Together with Friends at Muziklaban 2013

A lot of people came to the must-experienced event of the year. People flooded the field as they sang together with the bands and enjoy themselves from jamming. It has been raining cups filled with beer anywhere. Plastic cups were everywhere, some of the people were so wasted and I bet including me. I still feel lucky to remember some of these stuffs. It has been a night of music when different Pinoy bands came out the stage including Pupil, Wilabaliw, Slapshock and many more including Pepe Smith which is so popular with the tagline, "Rock 'n Roll!"

Fireworks at Muziklaban 2013

When the bands were almost done playing, fireworks lighted the dark night sky. It was a perfect scene above while the bands were playing their own music and to keep people being amazed. After the bands played, one by one, people cleared out the field and called it a night. Hours of stay there on the field was a bit exhausting and tiredly but it's all worth it. Next year we might expect another event from Red Horse, "Ito ang Tama!"
